WHY CUSTOM FIT CLUBS
People are generally built slightly differently from individual to individual. Fortunately if you are taller your arms are longer and vise versa if you are shorter so are your arms. But is this situation exactly the same from one person to another, No!!
Also, people develop their own little unwanted swing tendencies that produce a particular shot. Club fitting can reduce or help control those tendencies.
When you buy golf clubs off the rack in the store they may or may not fit you exactly. If you are 5' 10" to 6' 2", have normal arm length, medium hand size and a perfect swing the standard set should fit. Very few people fit this criteria. For women it is about 5' 2" to 5' 6" normal arm length and a perfect swing the standard set will probably fit.
So if you do not fall in the height range for your gender, or if your arm length in relationship to the floor is not standard or you hook or slice the ball more than you would like a custom fit set of golf clubs would benefit you.
Just a note on your golf swing. I would suggest that you take golf lessons to reduce a hook or slice before you fit your clubs to fix the problem. You have to decide how you want to proceed here. A final note: Be very accurate in answering the questions in the fitting sections. Have someone else do the measuring for you.
